Surviving without An Income ~ Update

Good morning, Everyone!

I wanted to give an update of how we are surviving without an income! God is so good to us and his blessings are more than we deserve! We are still struggling financially, but we are working hard each day to make things work. So far, we have been able to pay all of our bills and keep food on our table. There is not much extra at this point but we are surviving! We have everything we need. I travel at least once per week to take the saw blades to be sharpened. I drop off several, and I pick up the ones I had dropped off the week before. Traveling even the one day keeps me busy. We are still homeschooling and farming as well as attending church and helping in our community when we can. Each day I wake up at least by 5am and most of the time do not go to bed until around 11pm. I am working the entire day on something whether it is just cleaning the house, making granola, taking care of the animals, teaching, tutoring, or working extra jobs to help pay bills. I realize we are in a different season in our life, and this too shall pass. I want to blog more and I have TONS of ideas of frugal living to share with you. I also have TONS of other things I want to share! I will blog when I can! Please keep reading, clicking on links, purchasing from the links, etc. They are a tremendous blessing! Every penny goes to help our family! My prayer is God will bless us financially again so we can help others the way others have helped us! I would love to be able to set up a foundation to help families who are struggling financially. God is doing a work in the life of our family. We are growing closer to each other as well as closer to God! It is a trying and stressful time in our life and not every day is a good day, but every day should be a good day! We should always be thankful for the life God has given us to live and to serve him! Soon, I hope to get back into a routine where I can blog again consistently! I miss it! I love writing and I love to hear from my readers! I hope to do some giveaways again as well! Those are always lots of fun! I will love to hear from you when you have time to write or comment! Blessings to all of you and thank you for your prayers and support!

I do not put our Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving. However, I do like planning ahead! I love using Mason Jars for my decor! This Rustic Mason Jar Christmas decor idea from Etsy is such a neat and simple idea! You could very easily create this centerpiece on your own or purchase the one from Etsy. Whether you create it yourself, or you purchase it, I will love to see your pictures!

Monday Menu from the Farm

I have been trying to recreate plain meals while only using what is on sale or already in stock in my pantry or refrigerator or deep freezer. One of the dishes we ate last week which was not necessarily on the menu was Chicken and Waffles. I had never eaten it myself until a few weeks ago, and never really heard of eating them together either. I fixed my regular waffles recipe along with my regular fried chicken recipe, and served them with butter and maple syrup. Everyone loved them. A couple of nights later, I fixed it again at my husband's request, and I used the Food Network Bobby Flay recipe. They were even better! Now, my husband wants to have Chicken and Waffles at least once per week. I hope I can continue to find chicken at marked down or sale prices as I have this last week. Otherwise, we are going to have to start harvesting our own chickens!
Here is a tentative menu for the week.
