With all the things going on in the world today, it is easy to say, “Why should I keep on going? What is the point? Everyone is corrupt! There is no chance of me helping anyone. Why do good?” However, I want to encourage you to keep on doing what you know and feel in your heart is right!
The first part of May, I talked with a man who I have known my entire life. I do not know all of his past, but I was aware to some extent of his involvement in drugs and alcohol and being in jail. He has over come those things and shared his testimony with me the other day. He said he has been clean of all of it for nine years. Do you know who besides God he gave the credit to helping him get his life back on track? He gave credit to my mother! He said he did not know how he would have ever gotten back on the right track if it had not been for my mom and her LIFE TESTIMONY! He has known my mom her entire life. He has watched her fail and succeed. He has seen her depend on God and keep the faith no matter what the circumstance. He said it was her love and compassion which helped him in the long run! Of all the people he knows, she was never condemning, but always showed him love and respect and compassion even at his lowest points in life! Wow! What a testimony and encouragement for me to live for the Lord daily! My mom has always been one to practice the greatest commandment of loving the Lord with all her heart and her neighbor as herself. If anyone is genuine and sincere about their love for others it is my mother! She has never cared about skin color, hair color, political party, or behavior, she loves with an unconditional love as God does and commands us to do! She does not always agree with what people are doing, but she is going to let them know she loves them!
After he shared this testimony with me, I was even more encouraged to keep on doing what I KNOW is right whether it is what the world likes or not! It is not always easy to live a Christian life, but I believe in the end it will be worth it all.
I do not agree with everything the president says or does, but I am praying for Him and praying for God to give me a love and compassion in my heart for him and others with whom I disagree who are trying to lead this country. I do not agree with everything going on recently in my hometown or the high school where I graduated, but I am praying for them and praying I can be a light and an example to them of others! I want people to see God in me and want to have God for themselves too! I do not want people to be so repulsed by my relationship with God that they go the opposite direction. Even if I can help just one person throughout my life, it is worth it! Even if I only teach my children and they are the people who help and touch others, it is all worth it!
I love the Lord, and I love my family and each of my readers. I pray God will reveal himself to you in a mighty way and show you HIS power and love and awesomeness! I pray when he does, you will pass it along to others!
Keep the faith! It is worth it in the long run!
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
