Wednesday Words of Wisdom- Prayer

Recently, in my little hometown in Tennessee, there has been a controversy at the high school over prayer. It is very sad. There is a student, an atheist, who wants prayer banned completely from all school functions. From what I understand, her family plans to press charges against the school if prayer is offered at her high school graduation in May. It breaks my heart to know this girl does not know my Savior or want prayer at the schools. The majority of my teachers when I went through the school were Christians and praying ones at that! Many of them have now retired and have even passed away. My heart breaks for those who are so offended by prayer. Our nation was founded on prayer. No doubt, our forefathers prayed for our nation and the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and many other documents in the beginning of our nation. It is evident throughout history the fall of those nations who have turned from God. Unfortunately, I see it happening in MY AMERICA! I do not understand the hatred and ignorance surrounding the existence of God. Also, I would rather take a stand and be wrong about believing in Jesus than to not believe in HIM and my current love and belief in the Lord be wrong! What do I have to lose? I am serving a Risen Savior! It is not always easy, but he is always there for me. I strongly believe HE is always there for those who put him first in their life. He promises us that! He has never failed me! Yes, I have gone through trials, temptations, hardships, etc. just like everyone else, but I have only grown closer to him. They may take prayer away in the school, or God away from everything in the world, but they cannot take HIM from my heart. Furthermore, what about my freedom of Religion as a Christian! What about those of us who want to have prayer at school or in our every day life? I do not understand everything which goes through the minds of others. However, I do know my God is real. My PRAYER is HE will reveal Himself to you and to everyone, so you may know HIM too! One person who is famous who at one time was an atheist is Kirk Cameron! You can see his Christian Testimony on God Tube. Kirk Cameron was a teen idol who was an atheist! He is now a Christian. His testimony is powerful. God continues to work in his life. He recently released a documentary called Monumental about our nation’s history and how prevalent God was in in its making. I have not seen it yet, but I hope to see it soon. I am praying for all my readers as well as those who do not read my blog.
