Wednesday Words of Wisdom- Count It All Joy

I have not written a Words of Wisdom Post in quite a while. However, I wanted to share something which has been on my heart for a while. It is a particular verse in the bible: James 1:2-3 which says, “My brethern, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations, knowing this that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” A strong verse and a strong statement. I have shared it with several friends and family members over the last few months. Some have not liked to hear it and have been very hateful, but others have been humbled and appreciative. I have said it as much to myself as well as to others throughout my lifetime!

I often get discouraged as well as confused how Christians can just give up on life and living for the Lord at the drop of a hat. I have had my share of problems in my life. There have been times when I cannot understand why God has allowed things to happen the way they have. However, I know he has a purpose in everything he does and everything which happens. Even though we cannot always see or understand why things happen, God knows and he is working out the things for good! It is not always easy to keep trusting, but I do try my best to give him the glory in all, and if I am really struggling, I look for someone to help me through the hard times!

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Knowing the verse in Romans does help to make all those moments be Count It All Joy Moments for the Lord. I know through all the valleys I have been in, I have been much closer to the Lord by the time I get back on the Mountain!

My encouragement to you today…Hang in there. Pray. Ask for help not only from God, but from others who you trust. Yes, I know it seems difficult right now, but you can make it through it! It may take a while, but I know you can do it! Keep the faith! God will never give you more than you can bear. If you know someone who is going through some struggles, reach out to them through prayer and as a friend.

God Bless!
