Kashi TLC Peanutty Dark Chocolate Layered Granola Bar Review

Recently, I was sent a package of Kashi® TLC® Peanutty Dark Chocolate Layered Granola Bars to review. These Granola Bars are free of high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, and unnatural preservatives. They contain 7 grams of whole grains, 4 grams of fiber, and 4 grams of protein from peanuts and soy crisps.

Even though we try to avoid all soy products due to the Dangers of Soy, we went ahead and tried this product. It was absolutely delicious, and I wish there was no soy involved as it would definitely be something we would purchase. My children loved them as well. I gave one to my 14 month old. It was a little messy for her, but not terribly bad! These bars are great for snacks and on the go foods as well. They are also easy to open.

These granola bars are suppose to be geared for children. However, they also contain peanuts which has become a high allergy food for many children. Also, they are NOT gluten free, so if you have any trouble with gluten you will NOT want to eat these bars.

In conclusion, if you do not have any food allergies or food avoidances, you will love these granola bars!

Thanks so much for Kashi for allowing my family to review this product!

    October Month of Garden Chores

    • Feed the soil with manure, compost, and cover crops. Spread manure from barnyard animals directly on garden beds to compost during winter months!
    • Direct Seed in Garden
      1. Wildflowers
      2. Green Manure Cover crops (White Clover, Crimson Clover, Hairy Vetch, or Annual Rye)
    • Transplant
    1. Garlic Bulbs
    2. Perennial Herbs and Flowers if you have started them or if you have some which need to be changed to another location
    • Harvest (Assuming you started a fall garden or still have things to harvest from your summer garden)
    1. Peppers
    2. Carrots
    3. Beets
    4. Winter Squash
    5. Sweet Potatoes
    6. Lettuce
    7. Greens
    8. Cilantro
    9. Parsley
    • Cover plants with row covers before hard frost to extend harvest into winter months. You can use garbage bags, newspaper, other plastic covers, or even cardboard to protect from frost. Just remember to remove during the day!
    • Clean up and compost garden debris (weeds, left over vines, plants, etc. from harvest).
    • Drain and store hoses (very important to prevent water freezing in hoses and hoses bursting!).

If you have a later frost or NO frost you may be able to still do the following:

    • Collect and save mature, dry seed from non-hybrid varieties. Seal in air tight containers, label, and store in refrigerator or freezer. Let some herbs reseed themselves in the garden such as parsley, cilantro, and dill.
    • Direct Seed in Garden
    1. Spinach
    2. Leaf lettuces
    3. Chinese Cabbage
    4. Turnips
    5. Kohlrabi
    6. Radishes
    7. Parsley
    8. Cilantro
    9. Green manure cover crops (Crimson clover, White Dutch clover, hairy vetch, annual rye)
    • Transplant
    1. Divide and replant Egyptian Onions
    2. Divide and replant Spring Blooming bulbs
    3. Perennial Herbs and Glowers
    • Harvest
    1. Green beans
    2. Tomatoes
    3. Potatoes
    4. Peppers
    5. Carrots
    6. Crowder Peas
    7. Celery
    8. Radishes
    9. Okra
    10. Dried Beans
    11. Eggplant
    12. Winter Squash
    13. Pumpkins
    14. Salad Greens
    15. Arugula
    16. Lettuces
    17. Red Raspberries
    18. Apples
    19. Watermelon
    20. Herbs
    • Dry herbs and flowers (They make great fall bouquets to decorate your home!).
    • Mulch perennial beds, fruit trees, and berries.
    • Clean up garden debris and add to compost pile.

I hope these tips have helped you some. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will try to answer the best I can, or point you to someone who knows the answer!

    Thanks for reading!
