This Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Knoxville World Fair Park, you can celebrate Knoxville Public Library’s Children’s Festival of Reading! The event is FREE! It starts at 10am and goes to 3pm. You can stop by at any time throughout the day. There are arts and crafts, bouncy house, wagon ride, and free entertainment (including some of my children playing violin at 10:15am).

The festival is the kick-off for the Knoxville Public Library Summer Reading Program. You can sign up your children and even yourself for great prizes just for reading books over the summer. Readers read for 15 hours, listeners listen to 30 books being read to them. Teens read five books and a chance to win one of 3 Nook eReaders. Adults read four books and can get their name in the hat for some prizes including literary getaways, gift cards, ereader, and mp3 player! There are different events at all the Knoxville Library Branches throughout the month of June. Remember it is FREE to participate! However, you must have a Knoxville Public Library Card. Be sure to check your local library to see if they have a summer reading program. I know the Kingston Public Library does!
You can support the Festival by shopping at Barnes & Noble during the month of May. Just print this coupon and present it when you are checking out.Learn more about the Festival atwww.knoxlib.org/cfor or by calling 215-8767.
