Handwriting for the SAT Tests

Nov. 3, 1 PM EDT / 12 PM CDT / 11 AM MDT / 10 AM PDT

The essay required by the College Board is a much more serious challenge that many people realize. Putting thoughts on paper is the most complex act of human behavior because the brain must handle several tasks at the same time. Most people don't even think about handwriting fluency or the impact it will have on the student who is faced with the need to compose a great essay in a limited amount of time.

This workshop will show you what you can practice, how you can practice and explain why this practice will help. It is all about making handwriting automatic and composition much easier.

Presenter: Rand Nelson, Peterson Directed Handwriting

Solving Your Science Struggles
Nov. 9, 4 PM EDT / 3 PM CDT / 2 PM MDT / 1 PM PDT

Solving Your Science Struggles - Let's face it, most people don't like science. Why is that? It's likely because of how science was taught to them as a child. In this talk, Jeannie will share her understanding of how science should be taught in the elementary years, based on research, data and experience. You will learn the keys to successfully imparting a solid science education, with tips, ideas and examples for making science come to life for both parents and students.
Presenter: Jeannie Fullbright, Apologia
