Blog of the Week- Celiac Scoop

I found an awesome new blog which deals with Celiac Disease, and gluten intolerance.

Christie is 29 years old and living in Fresno, CA. Besides being gluten-free, and writing occasionally for a company called Gluten-Free Works, she also teaches piano to 40 kids and adults. She loves to write music and sing as well.

Below is her story for why she became gluten free!

“I knew I was sick all through high school and even after.. doctor's kept telling me nothing was wrong and it was all "in my head". When I was 25, my stomach started ballooning out all the time after meals.... and so I realized the problem was actually in my STOMACH! I took things upon myself and started learning about food allergies, etc etc. When I came upon Celiac Disease... I read up on it, and realized that's what I had. I went to my doc and made her give me the blood test for it! Sure enough, after 10 years of being told I was "crazy"... :).... the test came back positive. After going GF, I gained a lot of weight at first ( probably because I was finally absorbing nutrients!).... but I wanted to stay thin....so, by a lot of trial and error with GF food, I learned how to eat really healthy and stay fit. I reached my goal weight, and now feel better than ever! I just want to connect with others who are eating GF and share ideas for eating healthy, staying fit, and being happy! =)”

You can check out her blog Celiac Scoop and let me know what you think!
